The Importance of a Wedding Website

There are a lot of important details when it comes to planning a wedding:
THE DRESS, the venue, the food, the flowers, etc. etc.....but don't forget the wedding website!
The wedding website is so important because it gives sooooo much information to your guests...way more than a Save the Date or wedding invitation could ever do.

Here are my top 5 reasons why they are so important:

1. To introduce you to your guests.
These people will be present on your most special day, so you want them to know who you are and they want to know who you are too. CV's uncle who I've never met, some of his college friends who live far away, my out of state family who I haven't seen in years, and my Memphis friends who haven't met CV yet.  There's always someone out there who wants to know a little bit more about the bride or the groom, how you both met, and how he proposed.

2. To introduce your wedding party.
I can't speak for everyone, but I know my wedding party is very special to me. I want them showcased and for everyone to know them by name. Your website can list each person individually with a little story on why they are so special. (here's my matron & maid of honors!)

3. Time and Place Verification
Lose the invitation or forgot it at home? All the information you need is right there on the website.
Times, Dates, Locations, Directions.
One Stop Shop for your guests.

4. To Provide Accomodation Details
You don't want to include hotel and airport information on your gorgeous wedding invites, so display all that information on your website. It will help your out of town guests tremendously when booking their trip.

5. Registry Details
It's quite tacky to include your registry details in your wedding invitations. So inform your guests where you are registered in a better way....on your website. Most wedding websites provide a direct link back to your registry, making it easier for people to buy gifts online!

So newly engaged ladies: make sure you create that wedding website and make sure it's included on your Save The Dates! It will help you and your guests out a lot!! :)

our wedding website was crucial!!! Since we did a destination wedding, we included this on our save the date AND enclosure card in our invitation so people had all the travel info. Instead of clogging up space with all the info, it was much easier to just throw in a website link!

Your website is awesome! I always like the websites because then I can read the love story, which is my favorite part.

When I read CV's bio on your blog, I thought, "DOES HE WORK AT JUNGLE JIM'S?!?!?" It is one of my favorite places and I've already set aside a day during spring break to go explore there. WHAT A COOL JOB. Also, an awesome place to get married!

haha - we don't have half of this on our wedding website! but I guess it depends where you're getting married and who you're inviting - we've got what we need :) ours much more focused on travel and accommodations and traditions since it's a destination wedding, and we sent out the address with both the STD and the invite so guests could plan ahead! SO important, you're right :)
